Back in 2005 a small
group of us went to India. We were invited to come and to minister
to the people there. Below is a pictorial story of out trip there.
This was a very fulfilling mission trip and we were blessed as we
realized how large our Christian family really is.
The picture
above is when we were presented to the congregation. Pastor Tom
is on the left, followed by Curt Davis, Don Langdon and Glori
Embrey. As you can see, this was a nighttime meeting of the
Jesus Festival of Peace.
One of the
church members presents Don Langdon with a flower garland. This
is done as a welcome gesture and is a sign of friendship and
love.
India is a very
gender specific society, therefore, one of the church ladies
came to welcome Glori and present her with her garland.
A picture as
Pastor George stands with his new friends and guests from
America.
A church
official introduces Pastor Tom to a couple of the local
officials. This is done out of respect for the guest and the
officials.
The worship
then started as the drops of rain began to fall on those
present.
Christians in
India love to worship Jesus. This is a picture of the women's
section of the church raising their voices of adoration to our
King Jesus.
The crowd of
people was very large. The people reached back as far as the eye
could see.
"God inhabits
the praises of His People.." Jesus was really present in this
place.
Here is a
photo of some of our elder sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Glori listens
intently as a message is given and is translated into the local
dialect.
Don is absorbed
by the message, as evidenced by his fixed expression!
Curt reflects
in quite meditation as he listens to the message he is hearing.
Our Indian
brothers and sisters love not only singing unto the Lord, but
dancing also.

welcomes the people to the service and introduces Curt Davis as
speaker for the service.

show of hands in the foreground, the message is being well
received.
Curt decides to
leave the stage and preach on a more "one on one" manner to
those in attendance.
Glori had a
real heart for the women at the meeting. Here she is walking
among the throngs of ladies, laying hands on them and praying
for them.
The men at the
meeting really got into praise and worship too. These guys
really love Jesus, don't you think?
Can we see a
show of hands of everyone who loves the Lord Jesus Christ?

Here is a
picture looking from the back during a daytime service. The
ornate tent covering kept the hot Indian sun off of those
attending.
Don relaxes during on of our many fellowship times.
During another fellowship time, Glori hangs out with some of the
sisters.
We
had a wonderful time during our visit to India. We were warmly
received and loved by all that we met there. We enjoyed
ministering to the Lord and to those who came to the meetings.
And guess what; we look forward to going back and doing it all
over again.
